GPMC | NMC Educational Bursary
The GPMC | NMC is offering twenty-five (25), two-thousand dollar ($2000) bursaries to assist members of Canada’s Building Trade Unions children with the cost of their post-secondary education. Children attending a post-secondary academic institution on a full-time basis are eligible to apply for this bursary. The deadline to apply is November 30th, 2023. A random lottery to select bursary recipients will be held upon contest closing. Winners will be posted on the below website link and cheques mailed shortly thereafter. The name of the Bursary offered by General Presidents’ Maintenance Committee for Canada/National Maintenance Council for Canada has changed from the Robert J. Watson (RJW) Bursary to the GPMC/NMC Educational Bursary. The GPMC/NMC offers twenty-five (25), two-thousand dollar ($2000) bursaries to assist members of Canada’s Building Trade Unions children with the cost of their post-secondary education. If your parent is a member of one of Canada’s construction and building Trade Unions whose Local Union has within its jurisdiction a General Presidents’ Maintenance Agreement or a National Maintenance Agreement you are eligible to apply. By-Law To Be Voted on at Quarterly Meeting
The By-Law Committee shall be a standing committee of the Local Union and shall be elected every 3 years alongside of the Local 325 General Election The By-Law Comittee will consist of at least 5 members, each with one ote. The Commitee shall elect its own Chairman. Submission off any new By-Law or amendments to exisitng By-Law is to be submiteed in writing or email the Local Union no later than the March General Meeting posted on the members only section of the website, discussed at June and September Meeting of each area to be voted on during the December Quarterly Meeting. A 2/3 majority of the members present and voting at the December Quarterly Meeting with a quarom shall be suffiient to ratify a By-Law. Any amendment or revision for a By-Law shall required a 2/3 marjority of the members present and voting at the December General Meeting.
